David Manners, Chorus Director
David Manners has a lifelong passion for, and involvement with, choral music. Born and raised in the West of England, he first sang in his organist father's parish church choir in Weston-super-Mare before becoming a chorister in the choir of Bristol Cathedral.
Whilst reading for a degree in music at Liverpool University, David sang in the choir of the Metropolitan Cathedral and conducted the University Singers. He also founded a university chamber choir, the Consort of Voices. Since university, David has combined choral singing and conducting with teaching and workshopping. He has been a tenor lay clerk in the choir of St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle since the year 2000 alongside which he runs a private teaching practice and is an assistant member of staff at Taplow Youth Choir.
David also composes music and has had many of his vocal works published. His interests are wide ranging and so, for the sake of simplicity, he references his love for the county of Somerset and his unshakeable support for its cricket club.
